Okay here's a fun fact i didn't actually plan to post this blog post. But honestly the title for it was thrown out as an idea for placeholder content because if you haven't noticed, Studio in Progress is actually kind of a banger studio name, and it was honestly just a joke.
But yeah, pretty much, I wanted to figure out the name for my Patreon page, i didn't want to just use my username, and i didn't want to reuse Lead Robot Games, because that's officially dissolved. I got a little bit lucky with some free-thinking that lead to 'name… in progress' 'studio… in progress?' And honestly I knew it was right because I literally could not stop giggling.
The joke made the thesis
I hadn't actually intended the whole 'in progress' ethos as hard as i did when I decided to reactivate my Patreon; but the dumb joke that made me giggle uncontrollably ended up being a saving grace.
I've struggled for a long time with executive function, for any number of reasons, which means that often, projects get left half finished, abandoned, or stopped the moment I've solved the conceit in theory.
If that sounds like you, I'm here to tell you that you don't need to finish something for it to be valuable. Projects and ideas are valuable for their learning value and exploration and skill development is never a true waste. Do not let the battlefield of previous ideas stop you from giving birth to your best ones and following them when you know in your heart they can sail.
